Clonakilla 2004 Hilltops
Shiraz
"The first of the Hilltops to carry a Viognier influence - it's been
fermented on Viognier skins. The effect is mesmerizing. There's a
richness here, a silken plumminess, a hint of undergrowth and lots
of sweet lift - given time to settle and develop, this will be a
fair dinkum cracker. Bound to be one of the top-notch bargains of
the year. Drink: Now-2014. 93 points."
- Campbell Mattinson, WINEFRONT MONTHLY, March 2005
"This smells beautiful: raspberries, currants, apricot - really
curranty - with earthy spice like szechuan pepper. Lovely raspberry
fruit sweetness in the mouth with pips, chewy tannins, and fine oak
mouth-aromas. A long, rich fruitcakey finish. …this is incredible
value for money. (95/100)"
- Tim White, The Australian Financial Review, June 10, 2005
